Medium Density Fibreboard (M.D.F) is made from wood fibres glued together under pressure and heat; it is stiff, dense, and flat and has no knots. It is made up of fine particles, does not have a recognisable surface grain and therefore can be painted to produce a smooth quality surface. It can be drilled, cut and machined without damaging the surface. It is also available in moisture resistant form suitable mainly for wide windowboards. Veneered M.D.F is available in Walnut, Cherry and White oak.
